The House of Welcome partners with RACS (Refugee Advice and Casework Service) to assist people seeking asylum to navigate and complete their visa application form, as part of the process of applying for protection in Australia.
Application forms for Temporary Protection Visas or Safe Haven Enterprise Visas are long and complicated by nature, meaning that clients with limited English or without experience of Australian systems or forms may require support to successfully submit their application for protection.
Currently referrals for this program are through RACS, www.racs.org.au, with the implementation carried out by House of Welcome volunteers and the Case Work facilitator. Staff and volunteers assist people to navigate the form and provide information about supporting documents and personal details that people are required to include.
Form Filling workshops occur Tuesday and Wednesday each week, 11am - 3pm, at the House of Welcome at 197 The Trongate, Granville 2142. For more information please contact: 9727 9290 / firstname.lastname@example.org
